The show "Avanim", which is a tribute to "The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising Monument" and was awarded in 2007 as one of the 10 best shows of all time (Germany/NRW), will go on stage at the LAC Theatre in Lugano on Wednesday 17th January 2016 at 8:30 pm.
Performed by the Israeli theatre company ORTHO-Da, is a fusion of post-modern body mime, clowning with a dark touch, dance and visual art, thus creating a unique style and great immediacy that reaches the audience crossing/getting through any linguistic and cultural barrier.
Since its foundation, the troupe has enjoyed a great success worldwide and has won significant theatre awards. To stage "Avanim" the actors take inspiration by the monument sculpted by Nathan Rapoport and placed in 1948 at the entrance of the Warsaw Ghetto in memory of the Holocaust victims and the resistance fighters of the Ghetto.
